Dr. John Barber
Owner and DC
Dr. Barber proudly calls East Tennessee home. Dr. Barber graduated from the University of Tennessee at Martin in 2004 with a Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences and Human Biology. He then went on to receive his Doctorate degree from Logan University in St. Louis, Missouri in 2008. Dr. Barber has been practicing and serving in the Knoxville area for 12 years. He and his wife, Kelly, have been married for 13 years and are proud parents to sons, Cavin and Wyatt. Dr. Barber enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, and watching UT athletics.
A ‘Whole Person’ approach with integrated care is the method that Dr. Barber applies to his practice and his patients. ‘Whole Person’ is the process of looking for any underlying causes for disease, discomfort, and pain, as opposed to just treating the symptoms. Many seemingly unrelated symptoms often arise from imbalances in the spinal column, and Dr. Barber and Gayanne Ballinger, FNP will seek to determine the root of the pain and create a personalized integrated treatment and wellness plan to suit each patient’s individual needs.
Gayanne Ballinger graduated with her BSN from the University of Tennessee in 1992. After a brief period of time working in the hospital she decided she wanted to further her education to help patients before they got to that point of decline in their health. She attended University of Tennessee Chattanooga and went on to become a board certified family nurse practitioner in 1998. Her focus over the years has been in promoting health and wellness. She has been working in the physical medicine specialty for the last 8 years. She is a proud mother of one adult son and three rescue dogs. She is a big supporter or the University of Tennessee athletics and is proud to call Knoxville her home.
